An Example Of Allowing A Desire To Arrive On Its Own
I'm not sure why, but the "allowing" part of the Deliberate Attraction formula seems to trip us up more than the other two parts. The Deliberate Attraction formula provides a straightforward explanation of how to use the Law of Attraction to attract more of what we DO want and enjoy. The three simple stages are as follows:
1) Get very clear about what you DO want.
2) Raise your internal vibration by removing doubts and concerns so you can match your desire's vibration.
3) Allow yourself to be guided by your desire.
The first two steps have already received a lot of attention. My posts on this blog contain a lot of personal experiences and simple instructions. Yet how can we "allow"–what must we do in order to obtain what we so clearly desire but lack?
I recently experienced a pleasant taste of what it's like to "allow." I've noticed that my office wastebasket is overflowing far too frequently. It's only an eight-inch sea-grass basket, and it barely fits two days' worth of crumpled paper and opened letters. "So, what type of wastebasket would I like?" I finally asked myself after months of mentally grumbling about its lack of capacity.
I imagined a sleek, black wastebasket with a 12 inch diameter top and a tapered bottom–about 15 inches high with a 12 inch diameter top and tapered at the bottom. Yes, that would be sufficient for a week's worth of garbage from my office, and it would complement my other black office decorations nicely.
After that, I gathered information on potential wastebaskets. Every time I entered a place that might feature my perfect wastebasket, I looked for it for approximately a week. Step-on aluminum cans were discovered–no, I don't want to step on anything. I saw black plastic garbage cans with swivel lids–no, I don't want a swivel lid–but I do want an open receptacle where I can discard paper. I found black trash cans on wheels that looked too industrial. I found some almost-perfect clay pots that were too heavy to empty. I noticed that the pricing range was $18.99 to $49.99.
Finally, I was able to let it go. "The right one will show up," I persuaded myself. That is exactly what happened.
I was making a purchase at the Fresno Ag Store in Fresno CA, when I opted to exchange some of my "Reward Points" for a gift certificate. I had never considered cashing in Reward Points before–the idea had never occurred to me. I boarded the elevator to the fifth floor and scanned the aisle while a lovely young lady at the Reward Counter prepared my gift certificate. There was a BLACK WASTEBASKET there, just the size and shape I had imagined in my head. I dashed across the aisle, gift card in hand, and lifted the basket. "Ah, it's made of felt-board, so it's really light." Nail-head trim on a matte black finish. It's about 14 inches tall and 12 inches wide, with a tapered bottom. "It appears to be quite professional." "$16.99," I read as I turned the basket over down. Excellent! I went to the checkout counter with my gift certificate in hand. "How much do you think this costs?" the clerk said as she examined the price.
"Well, it says '$16.99' on the tag."
"It's on sale for $5.00," she said, shaking her head in astonishment.
"Can you give me $5?" I was taken aback and asked the question.
"Five dollars," she stated again.
"I'll pay cash and keep my gift certificate!" says the customer.
Can you imagine how happy I was at the time? Not only was the price reasonable, but the method in which my specific request had been fulfilled was delectable!
"Allowing" simply means "letting go and letting God," as the old saying goes. "Detachment from the outcome," it's called. "Detachment from causing something to happen" is a better description.
Allowing is allowing the Law of Attraction to bring your want into your sphere at its own pace, at its own time, and in its own way. Allowing doesn't mean settling for second best–it means allowing the Law of Attraction to bring you exactly what you want–in the finest possible way.
Is there something you're preventing from happening because you're attempting to force it or because you want it in a certain manner or at a certain time? Allow it to go. Believe that the Law of Attraction will deliver it to you at the ideal time and in the ideal manner. It's true because it's the law.
